  President Hannigan announces that Ursinus will become the first liberal arts college to sign the international Okanagan Charter, committing to holistic health and wellbeing for all students, faculty, and staff.

  Inspired by President Hannigan’s leadership and vision, Suzanne P’12 and Joe DeSimone ’86, P’12, H’99 announce a new President’s Priorities Fund to offer vital resources that support the innovative vision of the college’s president.

  Ursinus celebrates the inauguration of President Robyn Hannigan, who is joined by students, faculty, staff, alumni, and honored guests during her procession.
• NOVEMBER 1, 2022
  Ursinus announces a partnership with the Borough of Collegeville in efforts to revitalize the Main Street corridor near campus. The project receives $2.5 million in state funding.
• JANUARY 10, 2023
  Ursinus expands a long-standing affiliation agreement with St. Joseph’s University and enters a new agreement with Clarkson University to provide students with more opportunities to earn advanced degrees.
• FEBRUARY 21, 2023
  Ursinus earns a VentureWell grant to fund a series of courses and programming that aims to stimulate scientific innovation by encouraging students to utilize entrepreneurial problemsolving skills.
• MARCH 7, 2023
  The Berman Museum of Art receives a $3.61 million bequest—its largest-ever gift—from the late Henry “Hank” W. Pfeiffer ’48, H’08 to significantly increase its endowment, support annual operations and programming, and ensure its long-term growth and sustainability.
• APRIL 19, 2023
  Ursinus celebrates student research and philanthropy together, as 264 students present their work at CoSA and #Giving2UCDay raises $242,568.
• APRIL 24, 2023
  Ursinus announces nearly $2 million in philanthropy to support student retention. The Samuel Darrow Lord ’62 and Carol-Ann Teresa Lord Endowed Student Retention Fund ($1 million) and the Frances Rose Sternberg ’52 and Rolf Sternberg ’53 Endowment Fund ($780,000) will foster campuswide support networks for students.

  Ursinus celebrates its 150th commencement ceremony, graduating 360 members of the Class of 2023.
• JUNE 1, 2023
  More than 40 liberal arts faculty and administrators from across the country gather on the Ursinus College campus for Revolutions in Liberal Education, a colloquium held to discuss the challenges facing liberal arts colleges today
• JUNE 8, 2023
  Ursinus becomes one of 34 colleges and universities to be awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of State’s Increase and Diversify Education Abroad for U.S. Students (IDEAS) Program

A Quest for Success

As we move forward, the Ursinus community is building on the positive momentum it gained by coming together as One Ursinus and investing in our people, places, and planet. There is much more work to be done.

Higher education is at an inflection point and, while the values of a liberal arts education continue to be questioned, Ursinus is gamely confronting challenges. It is what we do. Sure, we’re grounded in tradition, but we’re continuing to evolve to meet students where they are and provide a roadmap for their futures.

So, What’s Next?
Ursinus’s Quest for Success strategic framework is the result of two years of collective hard work by the Ursinus College community, including a steering committee and working groups. It was officially approved by the Ursinus Board of Trustees in May 2023. The three pillars of the strategic framework will direct the college to achieve its long-term goals.
