The Career and Post-Graduate Development Employer Advisory Board
Consists of employer representatives from a variety of career fields, including the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. Some will be alumni of Ursinus and others will not.
Board Members serve in a volunteer capacity.
Membership on the Employer Advisory Board is by invitation only.
To provide a forum for employers and Ursinus College stakeholders to engage in relevant discussions regarding a wide variety of career and employment issues. Information gathered from these discussions will strengthen the services offered by Career and Post-Graduate Development to students and employers. Topics may include:
Best practices and feedback regarding Ursinus’ Employer Services and recruitment processes.
Guidance on the skills sets and employability factors students must possess to be successful in the workplace.
Current economic and business trends and how they relate to the recruitment process.
Internship programs.
Marketing to today’s young adults.
Employer needs and perspectives and how a college can best meet these
How to best prepare students to succeed during their internship and job search, plus expectations for success once they are hired.
Generate new ideas.
Attend and actively participate in two board meetings per year hosted at Ursinus
Be available to respond to inquiries and share perspectives outside of the board meetings as needed.
Represent your organization (or arrange to have someone else represent) at events hosted by Career and Post-Graduate Development, such as the annual Job, Internship and Networking Fair in February.
Post internships and jobs at your organization with us throughout the year.
Build relationships with other employers and expand your network.
Discuss recruiting trends and best practices.
Raise your visibility on campus and strengthen your brand as an employer of choice.
Develop contacts for accessing key talent for internships and employment opportunities
Increase familiarity with Ursinus College and develop knowledge about programs which may be of particular interest to your organization.
Potential for increased interaction with students and faculty.
Receive acknowledgement on the Career and Post-Graduate Development website and also at the annual Job, Internship and Networking Fair.
Positively impact the work of Ursinus College Career and Post-Graduate Development through sharing your knowledge and experience.
Increased contact and collaboration with regional employers.
Acquire current information regarding the job market for college graduates
Clarify skills most needed in today’s world of work.
Gain ideas on how to develop relationships with new employers and on how to better serve our existing employer partners.
