About
Currently, I am attending graduate school at East Stroudsberg University. The classes I am taking are exercise testing and programming, interventional exercise for special populations, evaluated applied statistics for exercise science, and clinical rotations. My rotations involve traveling to different hospitals in Monroe, Lackawanna, Lehigh, and Northampton county where we shadow and assist exercise physiologists in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, exercise stress testing, and work with patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease. I love my program, my professors, and my fellow colleagues. My journey could not have been possible without the support and guidance of the Health and Exercise Physiology department faculty, who have a tireless dedication to the department and to the students of Ursinus College.
Impact of Ursinus
Every faculty member of the Health and Exercise Physiology department has had a lasting impact on me and on my journey forward. I really wish to thank so many in the department:
Dr. Carpenter for her constant dedication for to the HEP department and its students. Without her, I would never find my passion for cardiovascular physiology. I struggled early in my career in HEP and may not have been an A student but Dr. C made me feel valued. Dr. C encouraged me and fostered my curiosity in health and exercise physiology.
Dr. Ivaska is a truly brilliant professor and incredible mentor. She was dedicated to my success at Ursinus and beyond by providing me with confidence in knowing I was capable of graduate school, a stepping stone to greater things in life.
Dr. Kolwicz for steering my path towards East Stroudsburg University. Without his input and guidance I would not be in the place I am today. He wants every student to succeed and looks to put a smile on your face. He is truly an incredible professor.
Dr. Espy for being the kindest professor in the HEP department. Even though the kinesiology lab was not initially at the top favorite class list, she did an excellent job and lab ended up being a blast!
Nurse Bain for being an amazing Anatomy lab lecturer. As a nurse, she is more than qualified to teach anatomy lab and is able to ease the worries of learning difficult material.
Lecturer Costa for introducing me to strength and conditioning and advance my my interest in becoming a NSCA certified strength and conditioning specialist.
Lecturer VandeBerg for dedication to her student athletes. As one of many student athletes, I know the effort she puts into each one of her athletes. Her professionalism is off the charts and her commitment to athletes very much appreciated.
