Celebrating Experiential Learning Experiences

We encourage our majors to study abroad, complete a wide range of internships, undertake independent research, and student teach. Every fall, upper-level majors share their experiences with faculty and younger students in the department.
History Training Camp

At the beginning of each semester, the History Department helps students understand the core academic skills needed for introductory history courses: critical reading, argument construction, and, of course, footnotes. Originally designed and run by faculty, the workshops are now co-designed with students and led by students--aka the History Mentors. (The History Mentors also run the History Help Room, which offers peer tutoring during the semester.)
