Children having fun with Barnstone Art for Kids
Barnstone Art for Kids is a non-profit located in Phoenixville that uses the Power of Art to help children with a shaken sense of security to heal, cope, and grow.
Who we serve: Children aged 5-14 facing adversity in Chester County.
?What we do: Barnstone Art for Kids pairs children with mentors in small groups to deliver a trauma-informed resilience program called the Power of Art.
?Why we do it: Children with multiple Adverse Childhood Experiences suffer poor physical, emotional, and behavioral health outcomes.
The Power of Art Program is a full-year curriculum program divided into 5 blocks that each meet for 6 consecutive weeks. Mentors may commit to one or more blocks, but should be available to attend each scheduled day. The dates and times are to be determined. There is no transportation provided.
