Residency Requirement and Exemptions
As a residential liberal arts college, we believe strongly that experiential learning and community building take place both in and out of the classroom. As such, we have a 4-year residency requirement* mandating all full-time students live on campus and participate in a college meal plan.
*Incoming Student Exemption
This form is for students entering their first year at Ursinus only, and only prior to their attendance at Bear Beginnings: New Student Orientation in May.
Deadline to submit exemption forms for Fall semester is June 1 and Spring semester is November 1.
Incoming students who (1) who believe they have a compelling reason for commuting from their family’s home and (2) who live within an hour of campus should complete our

This form is for all current students including first-year students who have already attended Bear Beginnings: New Student Orientation in May.

Students (1) who believe they have a compelling reason to commute from their family’s home and (2) who live within an hour of campus should request a housing exemption by completing the Housing Exemption Request.
In addition, students (1) who, according to Federal Regulations, are considered financially independent, (2) who are over the age of 24, and/or (3) who have extenuating financial circumstances may request a housing exemption by completing the Housing Exemption Request.

Disability and Access Related Requests
Any students (incoming or current) with disability related requests should contact the Office of Disability and Access to discuss accommodations on campus that address functional impacts the student is managing.
