Abele Scholars
The Abele Scholars Program at Ursinus College is a community of active learners and leaders who commit to academic excellence, ethical leadership, civic engagement, and paying-it-forward to help others. Scholars receive comprehensive support that helps them succeed as students and after graduation, so that they can make a difference in their lives and lives of others.
Who is an Abele Scholar?
An Abele Scholar makes a difference in their life and the lives of others by pursuing excellence, valuing diversity of all kinds, being civically engaged, and serving their communities as a leader who commits to honoring the legacy of Benjamin Franklin’s belief in paying it forward.

Each year the incoming first-year class at Ursinus includes 15 Abele Scholars who are high-achieving students who are U.S. citizens and residents of any of the 50 United States and Washington D.C. and have demonstrated financial need. Abele Scholars receive a $10,000/year scholarship and additional financial and program support during their four years at Ursinus, on top of your merit award.
The Abele Scholars Program increases access and affordability of an undergraduate education for students from low- and middle-income families who are U.S. citizens and residents of any of the 50 United States and Washington D.C. who demonstrate academic potential, financial need and a desire for the individualized educational experience offered at Ursinus College.
