The residence halls close for Winter Break Saturday, December 16, 2023, until Tuesday, January 16, 2024.  Students must to vacate campus housing 24 hours after their last final exam or by 5PM on December 16, whichever comes first.  Students who are unable to arrange transportation to leave campus by 5PM can wait with their belongings in the Wismer Lower Lounge until 8PM.

Mandatory 24 hour Quiet Hours begin at 12:01AM on Saturday, December 9, 2023, through Saturday, December 16.

Before leaving campus, students are required to do the following:

• Close and lock all windows and draw shades.
• Unplug electrical equipment
• Refrigerators can remain plugged but MUST be removed of all perishables
• Clean common area kitchens and remove perishables from refrigerators
• Remove clothes from laundry room – any clothes left will be donated (12/18)
• Turn out all lights and lock all doors
• Remove all holiday decorations from the house and/or hallways.  This includes the exterior of buildings.

Residence Life Student Staff members will be entering rooms after students leave to make sure these tasks are complete.

Improper check-out

Students who do not leave the residence halls within 24 hours of their last final or 5 PM on Saturday, December 16 (whichever comes first) and/or students who fail to check-out properly with an RA are subject to disciplinary action.  Additionally, any student found on campus without permission after the halls close will be required to leave campus immediately.  Proper check out will be explained to you at your upcoming hall/house meeting.

Spring Opening

The residence halls reopen on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10AM.  Spring semester classes begin Wednesday, January 17, 2024.  Over break, halls will not be open to procure personal belongings. The College is not responsible for personal possessions.  Items of value should be taken home.  See Student Handbook, page 70.

Dining Information

Natural, Sub connection and Jazzman’s will close as of December 13 at 5 PM. Tres will close as of December 14 5 PM. The Grill and the C-Store will close as of December 15 at 6 PM

Upper Wismer will close at 11 AM on Saturday, December 16

All dining options will re-open for regular hours on Wednesday, January 17, 2024.

Break Housing

Housing over the Winter Break will only be provided for International students, and those affiliated with approved College-sponsored programs.   In order to stay on campus, a student must receive permission from the Residence Life Office by 5PM on Monday, December 11, 2023.  Members of athletic teams who will be on campus over the break do not need to apply for permission; the Athletic Department will make those arrangements.
