Tutoring

The ISS offers individual tutoring and group tutoring sessions throughout the semester.

Individual Tutoring

All students have access to free peer tutoring through the ISS! Our individual tutoring program is designed to help students strengthen their course-specific knowledge and build skills for success. Students will use our online scheduling system to select a subject tutor and make an appointment to meet in person for individualized tutoring support.

We offer tutoring for most 100 and 200 level courses, and some tutors may also provide support for more advanced courses within their major.*

All of our tutors have previously completed the course(s) that they support with a 3.5 GPA or above.

Tutors also complete a training program, run by the ISS, to earn Level 1 certification from the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). This means that all tutors practice inclusive tutoring strategies that empower our students to succeed.

Group Tutoring

Group tutoring sessions are designed to give students the opportunity to work in group settings with guidance from a student tutor. For the Fall 2024 semester, we support BIO-101 recitation and offer exam reviews and topic workshops for BIO-201 (Genetics). Check out the left-hand sidebar to see upcoming group tutoring events!
