It is the responsibility of all individuals who operate or maintain vehicles on campus to be aware of these regulations and abide by them. By applying for a parking permit, you are agreeing to these regulations and acknowledging that you have read and understand them.

Motor vehicle drivers assume full responsibility for the operation and parking of a motor vehicle on college property.

By parking on Ursinus College property, the driver and registrant of the vehicle agrees that neither Ursinus College nor its employees are responsible for injury to persons, nor for the theft of, or damage to, vehicles or their contents, while parked on college property. Vehicles must be operated in a prudent manner relative to conditions of the road or lot (e.g., weather, time of day, road conditions) while on college property. Responsibility for any liability resulting from the location or operation of a motor vehicle on college property rests with the operator or owner and not with the College. The person who registers a vehicle with the college is responsible for assuring that the vehicle, regardless of who drives it, is driven and parked in accordance with these regulations.

If your vehicle is damaged on campus, you may file a report with Campus Safety by contacting 610-409-3333. If an insurance claim is going to be filed, a report should be filed with the Collegeville Borough Police Department. Campus Safety can facilitate contacting them to respond. 

All student, faculty, staff, and overnight guest vehicles must be registered with Campus Safety and are required to have a parking pass displayed and properly affixed to the vehicle as instructed. Permits must be visible at all times. Vehicles not properly displaying a permit will be ticketed. Parking permits are not transferable to other vehicles.

If a student, faculty, or staff member obtains a new vehicle at any time, they must register their vehicle here.

Students who have paid for a permit for the academic year will only be charged the replacement fee, and must provide a copy of the new vehicles registration card. 

Employees should send an email to parking@ursinus.edu which vehicle that is to be removed from the system. 

The motor vehicle to be registered must be owned, leased, or operated by the applicant or a member of their immediate family. Students, faculty, staff, and contracted employees may not purchase a parking permit for another student under their name. 

All vehicles must be parked in a designated parking spot. There is no curbside parking on campus.

All vehicles must park in a designated spot on paved or conditioned surfaces (e.g. macadam, blacktop, or stone). Parking is not permitted on grass, unpaved areas, or wedged in between trees or other landscaping, unless directed to do so by a college official.

All campus driveways and parking lot drive areas are considered fire lanes (regardless of markings). Therefore, parking in driveways is strictly prohibited, and vehicles may be towed without warning.

Permit applicants and the vehicle registered must meet all legal requirements for operation of a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Vehicles without proper state inspection or registration may not be stored on the Ursinus campus. Additionally, vehicles that are not in working order and/or vehicles that cannot be properly secured must be removed from campus immediately. Vehicles not removed may be towed without warning.

Vehicles may be towed without warning if they are parked improperly. This may include but is not limited to vehicles: blocking parking lot entrances, fire lanes, loading docks, dumpsters, or recycling bins; parked in driveways; parked on the grass; or parked in handicapped spaces without handicapped tags or badges. All towing and storage charges are the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

Students bringing vehicles to campus will be issued one of the following parking permits: Main Street Permit, Main Campus Permit, First-Year Permit (if applicable) or Commuter Student Permit. Students with valid permits may only park in lots designated for that permit type. Parking in any other lot is strictly prohibited and may result in fines and/or the revocation of parking privileges.

First Year students are not permitted to bring a vehicle to campus. *Please see the student permit section for exceptions to this rule.

There are no designated lots for specific residence halls. If the desired student lot is full, students may park in a student space in the 9 ^th Avenue lot. Students who return to campus late at night may contact Campus Safety at 610-409-3333 or via the Ursinus College MobileU app to request a safety escort from their vehicle to their residence hall.

Student vehicles MUST be parked in student spots at all times. Student parking is designated by white lines. Yellow lines indicate spots designated for Staff/Faculty parking. Visitor parking is designated by white lines with the word visitor painted in the space or on a designated sign. Students may not park in Visitor, Faculty/Staff, or other reserved parking spaces at any time (including evenings and weekends). Student vehicles parked outside of designated areas will be ticketed.

Parking citations must be paid or appealed within 14 days of the violation. Citations can be paid online here. Citations that are not paid or appealed within 14 days will be billed to the students account and a $25 late fee per citation will be applied.

Vehicle violation appeals must be submitted in writing within 14 days of the violation. Appeals can be submitted online here and may not be appealed in person or via email. Violation appeals will be reviewed once a month by the Ursinus College Parking Committee. All decisions made by the parking committee are final. Appeals received after 14 days will not be considered for any reason.

Repeated violations will result in disciplinary action, which may include, but is not limited to: revocation of campus parking privileges, referral to the student conduct disciplinary process, vehicle immobilization, or towing. Students who duplicate and/or alter any parking permit will result in the immediate suspension of all parking privileges, are subject to having their vehicle booted or towed, and will result in a referral to the student conduct disciplinary process.

A campus parking permit is a privilege that can be lost if registrant fails to adhere to the Ursinus College parking policies.

Students who accrue four (4) citations in an academic year will have their parking privileges revoked.
