What Scholars in Service Means to Me

I decided to join Scholars because I wanted to continue giving back to my community and make a positive impact on other people’s lives. During high school, I volunteered a lot, especially with rescue animals, and I wanted to continue that in college. Additionally, I was looking to meet people who shared similar interests and values.

Memorable Moment in Scholars in Service

One service experience that has been particularly meaningful to me is working with adult Spanish speakers at ACLAMO in Pottstown. These students are always eager to learn as much as they can, and I feel privileged to witness their growth and improvement in English.

Advice for Prospective Ursinus Service Leaders

It’s always good to keep an open mind and try different service sites, even if they are out of your comfort zone. You never know, you might end up loving it. And if you don’t, there’s no harm in trying something else until you find what works for you. Also, remember to take care of yourself and don’t hesitate to reach out for help whenever you need it!
