Disarticulated
This exhibition features objects from the permanent collection of the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College, The State Museum of Pennsylvania, and a private collection. Through these objects, Ursinus classes will investigate the challenges of collecting, provenance research, and curation. Additionally, students will examine how field professionals facilitate and respond to ongoing aims to “decolonize” museum collections and exhibitions. This process includes confronting inequity and rearticulating power. The exhibition interpretation will evolve over the course of the semester as students research and explore different modes of analysis for this group of objects.
