Lauren M. McCardel

In her role at the Berman Museum, Lauren sets the vision for the future of the organization, establishing priorities and goals to connect the museum’s collections, exhibitions, and programs to the academic mission of the college and engaging diverse external audiences. Her work intersects with all departments and disciplines on campus and connects the Berman with a national network of peers in the arts and higher education.

Background

Lauren joined the Berman Museum at Ursinus in January 2022. Over the last decade she has been committed to increasing access to the arts and art education and to creating platforms for critical discourse and connection through visual art. She has held positions at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and Tyler School of Art and Architecture, where she helped develop and launch the Creative Scholars Program, a full scholarship pre-college program for students from Philadelphia public and charter schools. She and her partner Scott live in South Philadelphia.
