Shawn Caven ’14
Director of Abele Scholars and Bear2Bear Fund
The Director of the Abele Scholars works across the campus to best support, advise, and mentor scholars throughout their Ursinus experience.
Background
Shawn is a proud alumni of Ursinus College (2014) and is a trained educator. Before joining Ursinus, Shawn spent a year teaching in Japan, worked in corporate America for 4 years, and most recently was teaching in Philadelphia for the past 3 years. Shawn was the VP of the Ursinus male acapella group, The Bearitones, the captain of the lacrosse team, a tour guide, and a senior fellow. Outside of Ursinus, Shawn enjoys rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles, Liverpool FC, Sixers, Flyers, Phils, and the Union. Music, Theatre, Triathlons, and his god daughter take up most of Shawn’s time outside of UC.
