Anthony Nadler

Anthony Nadler is a professor of Media and Communication Studies at Ursinus College.

He is the author of Making the News Popular: Mobilizing U.S. News Audiences (University of Illinois Press, 2016) and co-editor with AJ Bauer of News on the Right: Studying Conservative News Cultures (Oxford University Press, 2019). His current research focuses on conservative news, media and populism, and debates surrounding targeted advertising and civic culture in a digital media landscape. He is a Research Fellow at Columbia University’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism.

His articles have appeared in a variety of scholarly journals including Critical Studies in Media Communication, Journalism, Communication Review, Journalism Studies, and Journal of Information Policy. His writing has also appeared in L.A. Review of Books, Wired, n+1, Salon, Columbia Journalism Review, and other popular venues. His research and commentary have been highlighted in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, and elsewhere.
