The group evaluates existing programs and services for alumni with the purposes of making recommendations to helping to remove barriers to engagement amongst a more representative population of alumni.

 While the group works in conjunction with the alumni relations team, the design, structure, and approach to the work is independently generated by alumni. Only in its second year, participation in the group has nearly doubled since 2021 with 30 volunteers representing a wide range of alumni years from 1968-2017. Many of the group’s participants work in the DEI space professionally and/or academically, and this knowledge and experience has been crucial to conducting this work in a thorough and thoughtful manner.

From creating and distributing an alumni inclusivity survey, to examining everything from alumni programming and current college offerings, this volunteer group is working hard to break down barriers and find new ways for alumni of various backgrounds to re-engage with their peers and the college. For information and to get involved, email ucalumni@ursinus.edu.
