English Major Presents at Moravian Medieval Conference

English major Paige Szmodis represented Ursinus College at the 11th Annual Undergraduate Conference in Medieval and Early Modern Studies at Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA.

Accompanied by English Professor Kara McShane, Szmodis presented her paper titled, “Reconstructing Christine de Pizan’s City of Ladies” at the conference on Saturday, December 3rd. The research paper was written for an English course in Spring 2016 on Medieval Women’s literature. For the rest of the day, they enjoyed paper presentations from other students ranging from masculine performance in Beowulf to teaching Shakespeare through comic books. In total, there were 81 students from 29 different schools participating in the conference.
